Natural connections for Natura2000 in Northern Italy to 2030

A LIFE Strategic Project for Nature, aimed at achieving the biodiversity conservation objectives outlined in the Habitats Directive through the development of policies and management actions for the Natura 2000 Network.
The LIFE NatConnect 2030 project involves four Italian regions (Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto, and Emilia-Romagna) and the Autonomous Province of Trento, located in northern and central Italy. Overall, the area covers approximately 100,000 km² and includes 843 Natura 2000 sites, five National Parks, and several other regionally and locally protected areas listed in the Official List of Protected Areas (EUAP) by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE). The project area encompasses 65% of the alpine biogeographical regions and 70% of the continental biogeographical regions of Italy.
NatConnect and Middle Brenta
In the Natura 2000 site of Middle Brenta, ecological restoration and ecological connectivity improvement interventions will be carried out over a total area of 37 hectares.
