DRINKING WATER AND ENVIRONMENT:
TOWARDS A ZERO-IMPACT SERVICE

The Parco Fiume Brenta project, funded by the LIFE Brenta 2030 project, has started a safeguarding process of the water resource and the ecosystems related to it. The aim of this project is to institute an environmental fund dedicated to mitigating/compensating interventions to address the negative impacts of the Integrated Water Service. This fund would be financed by users through a small fee in the water tariff. The idea at the base of the environmental fund is the “user/polluter pays” principle, according to which end users should compensate for the negative impacts caused by using of the water resource. At the same time, it introduces the internalization of the Environmental and Resource Costs (ERC). Download the report to learn more.
